風搖愁玉墜，枝動惜珠幹。氣冷疑秋晚，聲微覺夜闌。
凝空流欲遍，潤物淨宜看。莫厭窺臨倦，將晞聚更難。
詩人做這首詩的時間點是寒露時節的一個月明之夜，詩人注意到了梧桐樹葉上的露水，他感悟到美好事物都是稍縱即逝的；從剛入夜的「初團」，到天將明亮「將晞」，詩人透過一滴露珠從形成到消失的過程，描繪出了一幅寒露時節的情境圖。
