New weekly mix series from 5 Mag kicks off with our friend, NYC mainstay Rissa Garcia. RISE is a weekly mix series, posted every Monday and featuring DJs from all genres that we cover. Not too long ago, 5 Mag used to do another weekly mix series debuting every Monday, and it seemed like it set things off in a good way - a good start to the work week and something to get you through. Words like uplifting mean different things to different people, but we hope the music brings something positive to you...

Volume 2 of SANCTIFY, 5 Mag's new deep house mix series comes from Ashley Beedle, who recently announced the next incarnation of the legendary Black Science Orchestra project.

For 5 Mag's latest mix series, we wanted to get back to basics, back to the fundamentals of deep house. SANCTIFY is that series, showcasing the greatest deep house DJs on Earth - the adept practitioners who believe in the mysterious and awesome spiritual power of deep house music. This series is by invitation only, and our first invite went out to our friend Brawther.

After learning of the death of phenomenal UK producer and DJ Phil Asher (aka Phlash, aka Restless Soul) we dug through our archives to find this mix, sent to us probably on a CDR back in 2008. We published it along with our first feature interview with Phil Asher in September 2008. Here we remember Phil Asher doing what he did best: DJing.
