E3 2011: Day 2 Podcast
Today was the first official day of E3. After one last, and slightly underwhelming, press conference from Nintendo, it was time to step foot onto the show floor and play some games. The list of games we saw and played on the first full day was long but it still pales in comparison to the number of games we have yet to see. We cover some big titles that were shown behind closed doors and talk about the games that we got our hands on for the first time ever. Games: Luigi's Mansion 2 Twisted Metal X Darkness 2 Aliens: Colonial Marines XCOM Hitman Absolution Tomb Raider Bioshock Infinite and more... [download] **I apologize but there was a critical error made during the recording that caused us to lose our entire discussions of Deus Ex and Tomb Raider at the end... But we liked them... a lot... mostly**
E3 2011: Day 1 Podcast
Day one of E3 is officially over and we sit down on some comfy couches to talk about all of the announcements that were made at the various press conferences that we attended. We talk about everything from hardcore applications for the Kinect with titles like Mass Effect 3 and Ghost Recon to the newly released details for sony's new handheld, the 'Playstation Vita." It was an exhausting day and the number of actual surprises were few but the adventures we had were well worth the energy we spent. With Nintendo's conference first thing in the morning and a day of appointments and hands-on demos, we are sure to have plenty of content to discuss on our Day 2 podcast. In the meantime, get caught up with the Day 1 festivities with our first official podcast of E3 2011! Conferences covered: Microsoft Electronic Arts Ubisoft Sony [download]
4PP 224: The Hypothetical Sister Show
On our last regular show before we ship off to LA for E3, our buddy Nate from Bioware joins us for some good ol' video game discussion. Add in some Witcher 2 for good measure and you got yourself a great show! In the news, we cover the newly announced Call of Duty Elite, Metro Last Light, and then shed some light on the rumors currently circulating about the new Devil May Cry and Metal Gear Solid games. We would like to thank Nate again for once again subjecting himself to our tom-foolery. Tune in next week for our E3 2011 podcasts from Los Angeles California! See ya on the West Coast! Noire, Viking, Homefront, and some weird game called Blood Will Tell. In the news we cover a lot of the rumor mill including some surprising rumors surrounding some popular IPs; both new and old. The week has finally arrived and the (surprisingly) crowded summer release window kicked off with a bang with the release of L.A. Noire. With many of us having been rather nervous about the potential problems that the game might have, we spend some time discussing our initial impressions of the game. Monolith is making a multiplayer Batman download game? Modern Warfare 3 was announced? Steam daily deals!? With E3 less than a month away, the crazy gaming news seems to be blowing up lately. 4PP PAX East 2011 - Day 1
Welcome to day 1 of 4Player Podcast's coverage of PAX East 2011 in Boston Massachusetts! Brad, Nolan, and Carlos made the journey and have already spent an entire day seeing and playing the games that the public will be playing later this year. Some of these games are games we saw at E3 or PAX Prime but a lot of it is stuff that is being shown for the first time so it's definitely an exciting show. With only 3 people to cover the event, a lot of our initial impressions can be found on these podcast recordings with additional written content to hit the site in the days following. Stay tuned because it is going to be a wild weekend! 4PP 214: The Dark Black Show
We cover the usual Dragon Age talk and David plays every game under the sun this week in his quest to be Cheevo master. Speaking of masters, Brad tells us about his quest to be Pokemon Master! That's a joke; Brad actually rants about the everlasting, unchanging pokemon series. On a more positive note, lesser known quantities like Raiden, Hydrophobia, Yakuza, and the much beloved, Beyond Good & Evil, get some love this week. Savor these last, Dragon Age-less moments while you still can because next week is Dragon Age week and it's all downhill from there... or is it uphill?
