Why am I still limping?

I walk about 20-25 miles a week. I love being out early in the morning and seeing our neighborhood come to life. But lately I've been having big problems with blistered toes and sore calves. Some days I could hardly make it home. But today - those problems are gone. I can walk indefinitely - like Forrest Gump I'm tempted to just keep going. Let me tell you what changed and what the principle is that can very possibly remove some pain points from your life as well. Episode #908 - July 07, 2023 Questions: Do you have an area in your life where there's ongoing pain? Something that you dread every day? Are you tolerating mediocrity in your life in some area - where there is probably a readily available solution? Have you asked for help? Are you willing to try something new? To break what may be a habit at this point, with the potential of eliminating that pain? Summary Points: What is it that's giving you blisters? Where are you tolerating mediocrity in your life when a solution may be readily available? Have you asked for solutions - your friends, your coworkers, your spouse, and God? Ask and ye shall receive………. Are you willing to try something new? To break what may be a habit at this point, with the potential of eliminating that pain? Take the action required to get new results. Get direct links to the resources mentioned on this podcast in the show notes at https://www.48days.com/ask-for-help/ Learn more about your ad choices. WOS: Two versions of your story

We can all tell our life story as a healthy version or a victim version. An unhealthy story can perpetuate that same ongoing reality. Are You Losing or Learning How to Win?

Two weeks ago I talked about this concept - how Ted Turner said when his Atlanta Braves weren't winning he wasn't losing - he was learning how to win. So many of you responded with your own stories of how you feel like you're failing right now. Let's take another look at what it means to "fail". And grab your notebook - I want to walk through the 5 essentials required to come back from failure Episode #906 - June 30, 2023 Questions: 1. Dan, I would like to hear more of your thoughts on failure. 2. I've reached a point of giving up and it is painful but eventually you must accept that losers are a fact of life. 3. How can I stop wanting what I want? 4. Dan, this will be the last time I'll ever ask you for funding help, this I promise. WOS: And the Donkey died because…

Not making a decision is still a choice - so make it interesting! To make a decision, follow these three steps: 1) Clearly state the issue. 2) Get advice from others. 3) List options and do research to narrow them down. Don't be like the donkey in Buridan's paradox - choose the best option, even if they seem equally attractive. Indecision in one area will affect effectiveness in other areas, so don't be double-minded. Remember the principle from James 1:8, and let's make intentional decisions to lead us to success! Ya gotta taste your dream…

You've got to taste your dream. When I was a kid dreaming of owning a fine car I hung out with friends who already had theirs. When I dreamed of making more money I spent time with families who were making 10x what my family was. When I was dreaming of increasing my influence I found ways to be around people like Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy and Mark Victor Hansen. Episode #904 | June 23, 2023 Questions: 1. I'm in a job I hate but it's stable. Should I really attempt to change? 2. How do you rest in the Lord and not work in your own strength to accomplish things? 3. I am a single mother of three. I have always worked and enjoyed my work but recently I have been convicted of a felony. 4. Two weeks after your response I quit that job and began bookkeeping for small businesses. 5. I did leave my 1-hour 15-minute commute and found a job closer to home. WOS: Do you want to be better?

Sometimes there's a comfortable misery in predictable, repeating failure. Episode #903 June 19, 2023 WOTS There's a story in the Bible where Jesus asks a man who had been sick for a long time if he wants to get well. The story teaches us to stop adopting a victim mentality and ask ourselves if we actually want to be better. People often hinder their own success because they're more comfortable with what they already know. Join us as we delve into this topic and discuss how we can make positive changes in our lives. It's been 48 Days and I'm not successful…

Yes I firmly believe in the 48 Days model - 48 Days to the Work and Life you Love - that's enough time to assess where you are, get the advice of other people you trust, identify your best options, research to narrow down to 2 or 3, choose the best one an ACT. That means you now know what to do to be making clear deposits of success toward your dream. Yes, it may take a little longer for that to come into full view. Episode #902 June 16, 2023 Questions: 1. Does it really only take 48 Days to be successful? 2. What is the meaning of the Stockdale Paradox? 3. What were Ted Turner and Nelson Mandela really doing when it looked like they were failing? 4. Ep 898I'm being promoted in a career I hate

This is a classic example of climbing a ladder that's leaning against the wrong wall. Value knowing what you don't want to do - and use that new knowledge to define what you do want to do. Episode #898 - June 02, 2023 Questions: 1. Should I pay someone to do the tech & set up part of my new business or should I learn how to do it myself? 2. Dan, what's your #1 suggestion to transitioning into more meaningful work? 3. I feel like I am working myself to death to advance a career that I hate. 4. I want to find some resources for possible small business ideas that I could start with my 12 year old daughter. 5. Ep 890WOS: Your Future Is In Your Decision

I was exposed to The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale when I was 13 years old. The idea that we become what we think about and can control our minds really rocked my world. Earl tells of a friend who made a terrible decision to hold up a liquor store and ended up killing the proprietor. He went to prison for life. Earl checked in on his two boys (12 and 14 years old when he went to prison). One grew up to be a very successful businessman, a husband and a father. The other followed his father's path of addiction and went to prison for attempted murder. When they were grown, he asked them both the same question: "Why did your life turn out this way?" To which they both gave the same answer, "How else could my life turn out having a father like that?" Ultimately, the life we're living comes down to our own decisions, not our circumstances. Ep 872I'm an introvert. Can I be successful?

You'll be most successful when you are true to yourself, not when you're trying to be something you're not. Steve Wozniak said "Most inventors and engineers I've met are like me. They're shy and they live in their heads. The very best of them are artists. And artists work best alone…" Let's talk about how you can be most effective in sharing your art. Episode #873, March 03, 2023 Questions: 1. What else should I do to feel confident I'm attacking the right next job for me? 2. I have often jokingly referred to myself as a Serial Hobby Jumper. I haven't been in love with any one thing long enough or fiercely enough to develop clarity on how to make it work. 3. What are some ways that I can reassure myself that I'm on the right path? 4. I'm an introvert who is able to get out there and meet people, do book signings, etc. - but it exhausts me emotionally and physically. How do I find balance in having to do that? If you're still doing what you were doing 5 years ago, rather than being praised for your loyalty, you may be becoming obsolete. Episode #872, February 24, 2023 Questions: 1. For the most part, I guess I have been doing work that I love, but after 5-6 years in one place I get a bit bored. Is that normal? 2. Am I writing good enough for others?
