You matter.*** During a period of almost three months in 1965, Sylvia Likens was abused and tortured by Gertrude Baniszewski, the woman Sylvia and her sister were left in the care of, many of Gertrude's children, and several other neighborhood children, before ultimately passing away due to her injuries and malnourishment on October 26, 1965.
