SPECIAL PREVIEW - Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - All Eyes on DC, the Texans are Wasting Deshaun Watson's Time & NBA Wednesday Headlines

On today's episode, Jason opens things up with a quick thought on the group of rioters who breached the US Capitol building on Wednesday. Although we do make a concerted effort to stay out of politics on the show, when terrorists threaten our democracy, who won the game and whether or not your 3-team teaser hit just don't seem as important. Later, Jason does a deep dive into Deshaun Watson's cryptic tweet following the Houston Texans' decision to hire Nick Caserio as their new general manager. It's impossible to know for sure if Watson's 'some things never change' tweet was about the hire, but the timing definitely seems to fit. The decisions to hire Caserio (who wasn't on their search firm's list of preferred candidates) and not even interview Eric Bieniemy for their vacant head coaching job (who Watson has long-preferred) makes one thing very clear: the Texans don't give a damn what their franchise quarterback thinks. They're going to keep doing what they've always done, and they're going to continue to waste the best years of Watson's career in the process. The NFL would be better off if Watson would just force his way out of town; his time is far too valuable to be spent working for such a clueless franchise. Finally, Jason closes the show by sharing his thoughts on a few of the biggest headlines to come out of Wednesday night's action, including the first back-to-back appearance by Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard. Maybe 'Load Management' is a thing of the past once and for all...?Click here to subscribe and download all of the latest Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre podcasts! Special Preview - Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre - Tua Time in Miami, The Untouchable Tyler Herro & NFL Week 3 Preview with John Middlekauff

On today’s episode, Jason does a quick preview of tonight’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars, and explains why if things go the way he thinks they’re going to go, we could see Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa under center sooner than later. If the Dolphins are serious about winning, it only makes sense to turn to Tua. As we’ve seen with guys like Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson, the blueprint is simple: Build around your star quarterback while he’s on his rookie contract. Later, Jason throws heavy praise on Miami Heat rookie Tyler Herro after the sharpshooter dropped 37 points to put the Heat up 3-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals, and explain why he wouldn’t include Herro in any trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo this offseason. Plus, former NFL scout and host of the ‘3 & Out’ podcast John Middlekauff swings by to tell us why he thinks Monday night’s game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs is much bigger for the Ravens than it is for the Chiefs, discuss what improvements he’s seen from Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen thus far, explain why he sees little to be optimistic about if you’re a New York Jets fan, and much more! Finally, Jason looks to end his cold streak by throwing down a 2-team (and 2-sport) parlay in the Thursday edition of the Best Bet.Click here to subscribe and download all of the latest Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre podcasts!
