Alma complete his sermon to the people of Ammonihah by teaching about the order (or priesthood) of God, which is that men and women that have already come unto Christ are to lead others to Christ through ordinances and covenants, so that Christ can lead all to enjoy the rest of God. Alma invites the people to repent, and they reject the message, kicking out those that believe and burning the women and children that didn’t escape. This horrible scene no doubt had an enormous impact on Alma and Amulek, and it is likely that Amulek watch those he loved die in the flames. Before long, the city of Ammonihah is destroyed by the Lamanites and Alma and Amulek establish the church throughout the Nephite nation.
