<p>In Ephesians, Paul shows how the good news should create ethnically diverse communities that are unified by devotion to Jesus and to each other. Philippians, includes a thank you to the Philippian Christians for their generosity and shares how they are all called to imitate Jesus’ self-giving love. In Colossians, Paul encourages the Colossian Christians to see Jesus as the centre of all reality, so they don’t give in to pressure from other religions. <p>As the book of Numbers continues, we learn that God's covenant plan stays on track even when His people don't. The instances of sinful complaining and rebellion, and the resulting judgement are so pronounced and widespread that the possession of the land is left to a new generation. <p>Leviticus ends and Numbers begins with the people of Israel leaving Mount Sinai and beginning their travels through the wilderness on the way to the land promised to Abraham. But Israel rebels by making an idol of the golden calf, which is just a really bad idea and beings to ruin the relationship.
