Matthew 16:18 “… upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Notice that Christ did not say he will build churches, as in many but as of one. This caused me to ask, then what is the Church? Remember a while back when hurricane Harvey hit Houston (Texas) and Joel Osteen’s church wouldn’t provide shelter to those fleeing the storm? At that time there were some brutal memes shared over the internet, but one stood out to me. This meme is hilarious but really what church?
