We are joined by historian, writer and lefty lawyer Dave Renton to go in depth on the policing bill and Tory authoritarianism. We discuss the nature of authoritarianism from the centre, consider why a 'police state' framing is not the way and ask if we might want to appeal to 'libertarian' Tory back bench MPs.
We also briefly discuss our reviews of Dave's last book Fascism: History and Theory, which appeared in ROAR magazine and the Ecologist.
