Brody Stirk is a ten year old with ASD from the Western region of New York! He is joined by his mother Janna. Brody runs his very own YouTube channel titled Brody Educates, which focuses on “science with a sense of humor”. Chief Sinagra is seeking to help the Saugerties community with the launch of the new Handle With Care program within the department. The goal of "Handle with Care" is to give the department’s officers knowledge about community members who may have special needs like autism or suffer from cognitive disorders like Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia. When she was 5, her parents enrolled her in dance lessons which enabled her to escape the stigma associated with her diagnosis, and thrive. She is still an avid dancer to this day! D’Angelo is a Niagara Falls native, she received a BFA and a masters degree in Early Childhood and Childhood Education with additional certifications in Special Education and Theatre Education from Niagara University. More recently, she was a house guest on the hit CBS reality TV show Big Brother for season 23. Britini kept her autism diagnosis a secret throughout her time on the show. This weekend's guests are Michelle & Connor Wohlfahrt! Michlle & Connor are a mother and son duo, and longtime friends of Anderson Center for Autism. In conjunction with Connor being a 2021 Henrik Lundqvist Foundation Young Ambassador (HLFYA) and a player on the Lagrange Gunners soccer team, he came up with a special fundraiser for ACA last spring. Saves For Anderson was Connor's way of giving back to ACA, through pledges from family, friends, peers, and community members. On this week's show, we welcome back Susan Levin. Susan is the parent of an individual on the autism spectrum (Ben, a previous 1 in 54 guest!). She joins us to discuss her recent "awakening" about her sons autism diagnosis. Susan feels she is able to love her son differently and better by surrendering her fears about his disorder.
