The book of Ecclesiastes tells us a lot about life in this world, it is a book of wisdom. “All is vanity” is something found in this book. But when life gets hard or things aren’t making sense, what wisdom can we call on? What makes life meaningful under the sun when all is vanity?

Just because we are living a life in exile doesn’t mean we do not have a hope worth defending. Peter reminds us of this and more as we continue bible study in 1 Peter 3:8-22.

Continuing with our Bible Study series, The Exiled Prophet, we look at Daniel 1. In the opening chapter we already see Daniel’s wisdom during his early life in Babylon and how he is an example even to us today as we live in a world hostile to the Torah.

Continuing on with the Pauline Paradox series in this part five, we spend some time going through Paul's letter to the Romans, one of his most difficult letters to understand. We uncover the context of the letter and then read through some of the more misunderstood verses, but keeping them in the context in which they were written to find out if Paul supports the ongoing validity of the Torah, or if he is against it for Christians today.

In this next Bible Study series on the book of Daniel, we look at what is known about the writings of the exiled prophet. Included in this introduction to the book of Daniel is an examination of when it was written, by whom it was written, and who the audience was.

Paul says not to judge others on matters of days or food; is he teaching against the Torah here? Paul’s letters can be very confusing at the best of times. Sometimes he is addressing things concerning the Law of God, the Torah. Other times he appears to be addressing matters of opinion, such as in Romans 14.

Paul said that we are not "under the law"...but Paul makes mention of seven laws! Out of those seven laws, there is ONLY ONE we are no longer under. Which ONE law are we no longer under? Are we no longer under the law of God? A choice between context and doctrinal tradition is about to be placed before you...as we continue to "test everything" and ask "Which Law Paul?"

Living a Life in Exile doesn’t mean live poorly or away from the world. We still need to be behaving honorably among the gentiles. We continue our bible study through 1 Peter looking at 1 Peter 2:11 – 3:7. We may not be of the world, but we do still live in and need to represent the Father well.

We are living a life of exile as Peter describes in his first letter. In 1 Peter 2:1-10 we learn more about what it means to be obedient children to our Father and what it looks like to have a desire for God in our lives.

There are some critics of following the Torah that believe when Messiah healed people on the Sabbath, that he was showing it was no longer important. That is, they are saying by healing on the Sabbath, he brought an end to it. While that is one way to look at it, we don’t believe it is the correct one.

Leviticus 19:19 prohibits the planting of mixed seeds together among other things. What does this strange commandment mean? How has it been interpreted in the past and how should we see it today? Is it even possible to truly know the meaning behind and practical application of this command?

As we continue our bible study about a life in exile in 1 Peter 1, we look at verses 13-25 to find out that we are to be holy. The Father has a way that he wants his people to live, and it’s not like the rest of the world. What does a holy life look like?

The common position of mainstream theology utilizes snippets from Paul's writings to prove that God changed His law. Others teach that Paul is a false apostle and teaches against the Law of God. However, Peter's warning tells us how twisting Paul's letters promotes a lawless doctrine. Here are 6 reasons Paul is difficult to understand.

A mainstream teaching is that you should live “your best life now,” but that is contradictory to the eternal perspective Scripture gives us. You should live the best you can now according to Scripture in order to live your best life later.

The Psalms teach us many things from how we should live to reminders of the Creator’s goodness and mercy. As we begin continue our bible study with studies in Psalms, we hear first of the way of the righteous in Psalm 1. Do you follow the way of the righteous or the way of the wicked?

In Matthew 24:20 the Messiah tells us to hope that fleeing on the Sabbath is not something to be desired. Why is this? What did he mean by this and what may be some greater implications of such a statement?

In part 2 of What is the Gospel? we look at the gospel according to Paul. What is it and what is the righteousness that is by faith? We then take a look at the gospel message of obedience.
